The Chess Engines application is designed to enhance your chess gaming experience by integrating seamlessly with chess GUI applications on Android devices. This app does not come with its own graphical interface but serves as a repository of powerful chess engines that can be used within compatible chess apps supporting the OEX (Open Exchange) protocol.

Included in this collection are native executables of renowned open-source chess engines:

  • Stockfish 17 - The latest iteration from Stockfish, renowned for its strong performance and continuous development. You can learn more at Stockfish 17.

  • Stockfish 16.1 - A previous version of Stockfish, still highly competitive and widely used. Find out more at Stockfish 16.1.

  • Clover 7.0 - An open-source engine with its own unique approach to chess analysis. Explore further at Clover 7.0.

To make the most out of these engines, we recommend using the following chess GUIs:

  • Analyze your Chess (free) - A user-friendly app perfect for those looking to dive into chess analysis without any cost. Available at Analyze your Chess.

  • Analyze your Chess Pro (paid) - For a more advanced experience with additional features, consider the pro version. Get it at Analyze your Chess Pro.

To integrate these engines into your chosen GUI, head to the Engine Management Screen, access the Overflow Menu, and select Install Open Exchange Engine. From there, you can choose and install the engine you wish to use.
