How to Play Okey

The Okey game is traditionally played with four players. Each player uses a cue stick to sort their tiles, which come in four colors: Red, Black, Yellow, and Blue, numbered from 1 to 13. The game includes 106 tiles in total, with two fake Okey tiles adding to the mix.

At the start, all tiles are shuffled and automatically distributed among the players. The player next to the dealer receives 15 tiles, while the others get 14. Players then arrange their tiles into groups or pairs based on their cues.

Tiles not distributed are placed in the middle of the table, with one open numbered tile serving as the indicator stone. The Okey Stone, which matches the color and number of the indicator stone, can be used as any tile in the game. Finishing the game with an Okey tile doubles your points.

Normal Tile Arrangement

Players aim to form at least three pairs of tiles. These can be arranged either in a series of the same color or as sets of the same number across different colors.

Pair Formation

To win, arrange all your tiles into seven pairs and drag the last remaining tile to the middle of the table to end the game.

Indicator Rule

At the start of a new game, the next player reveals the indicator tile. If it's an Okey color, the game proceeds; if not, 2 points are deducted.

End of Game

If the final tile played isn't an Okey, it's a normal finish. If it's an Okey color, 4 points are deducted from other players; otherwise, 2 points. Completing the game with seven pairs deducts 4 points from opponents. Achieving a color finish, where all tiles are the same color and in order from 1 to 13, nullifies other players' points, ending the game. If tiles are the same color but out of order, 8 points are deducted from other players.
