UTH is played with a standard 52-card deck. To start, you place equal bets on Ante and Blind, with the option to make an additional Trips bet, which pays out only on specific hands. The dealer then deals two cards to you and two to themselves, and you get to see your cards. At this point, you can either check or make a Play bet, which must be three or four times your Ante bet.

The dealer then reveals three community cards. If you checked previously, you now have the option to bet double your original Ante or check again. If you've already made a Play bet, you do nothing at this stage. After this, the dealer turns over the final two community cards.

If you've checked twice before, you must now either make a Play bet equal to your Ante or fold, forfeiting your Ante and Blind bets. As in traditional Texas Holdem, both you and the dealer aim to create the best five-card hand using any combination of your hole cards and the community cards.

For the dealer to qualify, they must have at least a pair. If the dealer qualifies and you win, all three of your bets (Ante, Blind, and Play) are paid out according to the UTH rules. If the dealer doesn't qualify, your Ante bet is returned. Should the dealer win, you lose all your bets except the Trips bet, which is resolved separately. In the case of a tie, all your bets are returned to you.
