Following an exciting reveal trailer, Dune: Awakening is scheduled for release on PC via Steam on May 20th, 2025. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions will follow at a later, yet-to-be-specified date. To prepare players for this epic journey, developer Funcom has launched the Character Creator and Benchmark Mode. These tools allow players to fully customize their character and test their PC's compatibility with the game.

With the Character Creator, you have the freedom to tailor every aspect of your appearance, from your hairstyle to your attire. Additionally, you can choose your home planet, caste, and mentor or class, setting the stage for your unique story. Characters created now will seamlessly transfer into the full game at launch. As an added bonus, early creators will receive an exclusive Frameblade knife skin, redeemable with a special code upon the game's release.

The Benchmark Sequence is designed to assess your PC's performance, automatically adjusting graphics settings to ensure the best possible experience. This test takes you through a player-built base in the desert, to the bustling Harko Village, the central hub for Harkonnen players, and culminates in a thrilling encounter with a colossal sandworm.

Dune: Awakening will be available for USD 49.99. Pre-orders will soon be available on Steam, and they include a special in-base decoration, the Terrarium of Muad'Dib, featuring the beloved desert kangaroo mouse from the series.
