"Fast and Furious: Chronological Viewing Guide"

As one of the longest movie franchises of all time, the Fast and Furious series has transformed from humble beginnings centered around street racing into a blockbuster phenomenon renowned for its over-the-top action sequences. This evolution has contributed to the franchise's remarkable success, amassing nearly $2 billion USD at the global box office.
The Fast and Furious saga spans twelve films, including nine mainline entries, one spinoff, and two shorts, weaving a complex narrative that can be challenging to follow. With the latest installment, Fast X, now available for streaming on Amazon, we've crafted this comprehensive guide to help you watch the Fast and Furious movies in chronological order.
For those who prefer to experience the films as they were released, we've included a list at the end of the article that orders the movies by their release dates. We've chosen not to include the animated series Fast & Furious: Spy Racers in this guide, as it doesn't significantly impact the main storyline.

Fast and Furious Movies in Chronological Order
1. The Fast and the Furious (2001)
The timeline kicks off with the franchise's inaugural film, 2001's The Fast and the Furious. The plot follows Paul Walker's undercover cop Brian O'Conner as he infiltrates a crew of carjackers led by Vin Diesel's Dom Toretto. Brian immerses himself in illegal street racing, forms a bond with Dom, starts a relationship with his sister Mia (Jordan Brewster), and ultimately chooses loyalty to his new friends over his police duties. This film also introduces Michelle Rodriguez's character Letty Ortiz, Dom's love interest.

3. 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003)
The only Fast and Furious movie without Dom Toretto, 2 Fast 2 Furious introduces Roman Pearce (Tyrese Gibson) and Tej Parker (Chris "Ludacris" Bridges).
