While the online experience is ending, there's a silver lining. Nintendo plans to release a paid offline version of the game. While features like Market Boxes, gifting, and visiting friends' campsites will be absent, the core gameplay will remain. Players will retain their saved data and can continue playing without an internet connection. Further details on this offline version will be revealed around October 2024.

This closure follows a trend of Nintendo phasing out mobile titles, including Dr. Mario World and Dragalia Lost. While unexpected to some, the shutdown isn't entirely shocking given this pattern.
