Season 8: Sandlord of Torchlight: Infinite Launches This Month
Torchlight: Infinite's next chapter, Season 8: Sandlord, is set to launch on April 17th, promising a thrilling array of new features and content for fans of the action RPG. This season introduces the innovative Cloud Oasis, a new environment where players can engage in economic gameplay mechanics. This includes trading resources, assigning workers, and managing production lines to build an aerial empire. The Cloud Oasis is a game-changer, shifting the focus from traditional monster grinding to strategic empire building in the skies.
Returning with a twist is Thea, whose new trait, Blasphemer, replaces her divine powers with the curse of Desecration. This curse starts off weak but scales powerfully, increasing Erosion damage based on the depletion of her blessing power. Players can further customize this into area-of-effect explosions or HP-scaling effects, making it an ideal choice for those who enjoy damage-over-time mechanics and intricate build synergies.
The endgame content is receiving a significant overhaul, with Deep Space being completely revamped. It now features five new stages, broader maps, and more challenging enemies. A new system called Probes allows players to adjust the risk and reward levels, with each probe increasing the challenge but also the potential for better loot, including Compass chests through the Compass Probe.
Season 8 also introduces a Blending System for belt crafting, enabling the fusion of Hero Traits, Talent nodes, and unique affixes into a single item slot. This system offers deeper build customization options. Additionally, a new boss, Night Slayer – The Wilting Plume, has been added to Plane Watcher and the 20th floor of Supreme Showdown.
To celebrate the launch, Torchlight: Infinite is hosting the Sands of Fortune anniversary event from April 17th to May 1st. Players can complete tasks, earn Gold Rush Attempts, and have a chance to win from a prize pool of $250,000.
