High-Quality USB Camera Viewer & HDMI Display

To transform your device into a portable display for your Camera, Gaming Console, Laptop, PC, or other devices with HDMI output, you'll need an HDMI to USB C dongle. This is also known as a UVC capture device or Video Capture Card, and it's distinct from a USB C hub or a USB C to HDMI cable.

Devices such as Cameras, Endoscopes, and Microscopes with USB streaming capabilities are also compatible.

Noir supports UVC video streaming and UAC audio streaming, and offers a choice between OpenGL ES and Vulkan for the graphics backend. The free version provides basic functions and an immersive experience, though it includes ads (not in the preview). Opt for the pro version to access more features and support the ongoing development and maintenance of Noir.

FAQ

  1. Why doesn't Noir recognize my device?

    • Possible reasons include your phone or tablet not supporting USB Host (OTG) or the device not being a Video Capture Card. Some devices may require additional power from a USB hub if the phone or tablet cannot supply enough.
  2. Why is the preview so laggy?

    • Lag often results from using an incompatible USB version. Ensure you use a USB 3.0 capture card with a USB 3.0 cable and port. For USB 2.0 cards, use the MJPEG format and stay within 1080p30fps specifications.
  3. Why did my capture card, which was working fine, suddenly fail to connect?

    • This is typically due to system issues. A simple restart of your phone or tablet might resolve the problem.
  4. Why does my gaming console or Video playback device show a black screen when connected?

    • This issue is common with PS5 and PS4 due to HDCP being enabled. Disable HDCP in the PS console settings. Note that PS3 does not allow HDCP to be turned off. Other devices might also enable HDCP during video playback, causing black screens. Some HDMI splitters can bypass HDCP, but this solution is not covered here.
  5. Why are resolutions other than 16:9 and 4:3 not supported?

    • Currently, no capture cards support ratios other than these. Use Noir's Stretch feature to specify your desired ratio, ensuring your capture card's EDID supports it and your device's output resolution matches.
