Capcom has released a new hotfix, version 1.000.05.00, for Monster Hunter Wilds across all platforms. This update focuses on removing progression blockers and fixing various bugs, although it doesn't address performance issues as noted in the patch notes.

Despite its record-breaking launch, selling an impressive 8 million copies in just three days and becoming Capcom's fastest-selling game of all time, Monster Hunter Wilds currently holds a 'mixed' user review rating on Steam. The primary concerns from the community revolve around performance problems on PC. The game has also achieved the fifth highest concurrent player count on Steam, peaking at 1,384,608, surpassing the peaks of Dota 2, Cyberpunk 2077, and Elden Ring. In comparison, Monster Hunter: World reached a peak of 334,684.

Looking ahead, a title update expected in early April will introduce a new endgame area for gathering and additional monster hunting content.

• An NPC that was missing during Main Mission: Chapter 5-2 “A World Turned Upside Down” now appears, allowing further progression.
• At the Smithy, fixed an issue where tutorials were repeatedly shown, blocking certain menu options.
• Corrected the Power Guard effect with the lance, which previously showed a red flash without activating.
• Fixed an issue where using a mantle would mistakenly activate a Weapon Equipment Skill.
• Addressed continuous display of effects when using certain skills like Peak Performance and Self-Improvement.
• Fixed a freeze issue when performing an Offset Attack with the Insect Glaive’s Descending Slash.

Capcom is also actively working on resolving several ongoing issues, including network errors when firing an SOS flare, issues with Link Members not appearing at Base Camps, Palico’s blunt weapon attacks not inflicting stun and exhaust damage, Hunter Profile editing problems, and some side missions that cannot be completed under certain conditions.
